Common Questions When Booking Bands for Weddings Or Corporate Events
Q. How do I book the band?
Contact us by EMAIL or by calling 07745 098761 and give us the details of your event. If your date is available, we wiill send you a booking contract which should be completed and returned with your deposit.
Q. Can I provisionally book the band?
Due to the large number of enquiries we receive the only way to ensure your date is secured is to complete and return the booking contract. If we receive another enquiry for your date within 14 days, we will endeavour to contact you. However we would advise you to return your signed contract and deposit as quickly as possible, as this is the only way we can guarantee your booking.
Q. How much do the band cost?
Price is dependent on the location of your event. Please CONTACT US for a quote
Q. Can the band play our choice of first dance?
Absolutely -All we ask is that you provide us with details of your choice at least 8 weeks prior to your big day. This ensures that we can schedule learning your chosen song. In the unlikely event that the chosen song would not be compatible with our instrumentation, we would advise that the original CD is played.
Q. What are the times of your performance?
This will vary depending on the event however for a wedding, our standard times are as follows
6.30 - Arrive at venue to setup
8.00 - Band on stage for first set
9.30 - Break for Wedding Guest's Buffet
10.15 - Band on stage for second set
12.00 - Curfew
The above times are given as a guide and we are flexible with regards start and finish times, however please note that we will not play longer than 4 hours including a break.
Q. How long is your break and can you provide background music during this time?
Our break is generally 45 minutes and will normally coincide with your evening buffet, or alternatively to tie in with your wishes. During the break, we provide background music. If you wish to provide your own favourite music during the break we would be more than happy to accommodate this. All we ask is that you provide this as a playlist on an iPod or CD.
Q. What happens if the function is running behind schedule?
Velour Amour will always arrive 90 minutes prior to the contracted start time. The band are unable to accept responsibility for any delays outwith our control. Unless agreed in advance with the band and the venue, Velour Amour are unable to play outwith their contracted times.
Q. What songs will you play on the night?
We have an extensive list of songs that we can choose from, and from years of experience , we can judge the best songs to play to keep your party in full swing. A selection of these songs is on the SONG page. Rest assured that we have songs that appeal to all generations. If there is a particular song that you definitely do NOT want us to play, please let us know.
Q. How do we pay you?
Deposits can be paid by cheque or Bank Transfer. The balance of the agreed contract fee is payable in cash at the start of your function, or alternatively by cheque or Bank Transfer at least fourteen days in advance of the event..
IMPORTANT - please note that we are not able to accept payment by cheque on the night.
Q. Do we get a contract?
Absolutely - This provides both parties with all the important information relating to your event, such as venue, date, performance times and contact details. Please keep a copy for reference.
